Last weekend, the National Basketball League of Canada held its inaugural All-Star Weekend and I had an opportunity to be in attendance to check out the festivities first hand. In addition to the All Star Game which featured the top 20 players in the league, they also held the 3 point and slam dunk skills competition as a way of showcasing the talent in the league and a Legends Game which kicked off the events.
I had a chance to catch up with former NBA player and head coach, Sam Mitchell just before the Legends Game got tipped off who played in the game. The former NBA Coach of the Year shared his thoughts on playing in the Legends Game and the significance of the NBL to the growth of professional basketball in Canada.
